What does it mean in Photoshop CS5 when it says your 3D Scene exceeds the limit?

Okay. So I am trying to create 3D Text in Photoshop but it says my 3D Scene Exceeds the limit of lights and/ or textures for the video card's hardware accelerated 3D rendering. As long as the limits are exceeded, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (e.g. Repousse) will be disabled.

What do I need to do?|||It means that with your current computer and video card, it can't show you all the different lighting and texture effects simeltaneously. It then goes on to say that it is actually performing those operations (except for special ones like the ones mentioned) even if you can't see them right. This may be a problem later beacuse when you flatten the image (make it into a png, gif, or jpeg) the 3D text might not look like you expected. If you have the option to turn off some lighting effects or texture it might help, but then you might not get what you want. I often run into problems like these when trying to work with large pictures or complex operations

What is wrong with my Video Card?

I had Windows XP a few weeks ago, and could play Civilization IV pretty much just fine. Then the computer wouldnt go to the start up screen, so we uninstalled XP and upgraded to Vista Home Premium and wiped the Hard Drive. Now Civilization IV is telling me that I cant play because I dont have 3d Graphics. I cant play WoW, Maplestory, or the Sims either, none of which I had a problem with before. It says that the card is updated so I cant find any Windows Driver Updates for it either. What do I do?

These are my Video Card Specs

Also with vista, I have found that the graphics card runs even faster, an added bonus (Y)|||If this is the same card that you had then vista can not talk to it progressively so in that case you may need to get a new computer or go to this link http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/ and I hope this helps you.

P.S. I am not positive with the link so ok.

Video card problems.?

Hi, I've gotten a few problems on my PC lately. It started when my PC crashed 5 days ago. I had to reinstall my OS, but when I was done doing that I noticed my screen was messed up and my sound was not working.

I have fixed the sound problem (downloaded RealTek AC97), however there is a problem with my video card. Ever since my PC crashed whenever I scroll down a page, for example, it takes really long for the screen to refresh. I have never had this problem before.

Good news is your video card is working, bad news is that you don't have the correct driver for it. If you video card is a stand alone card, meaning it is a separate card installed in a slot on your system board, you can physically look at it and obtain the model and make of it. Then go to the manufacturer website and download a driver. If it is an onboard card, meaning it is part of the system board, you can go to the manufacturer of the board and get the video driver from them.|||Whatever your video card is, it's not installed correctly. Can intel chip in compuer of 256 mb can run nfs shift? without video card?

by directx diagnostic tool it mention memory of 256 mb but can't play nfs shift nad also tells that it is 3d accelerated and directx 11 enabled . so it means that nfs shift can't be played without video card??|||You need a standalone graphics card to play any games, integrated graphics are not sufficient. The amount of RAM on the card isn't very important (even a 512mb card is plenty for NFS Shift) but you do need a decent card like a Radeon HD 5570/GeForce GT430 or better. Your computer also needs at least 2gb of system RAM.|||That must be a really old system with on-board GPU. I wouldn't waste my time with it for any gaming purposes. is the link you're looking for. Click on "Graphic Drivers" under option 2. This will ask to install an ActiveX control which you accept. After that it'll scan your system and give you the correct drivers. I was going to link you directly to the download page, but I think the auto tool would be much more suited for your system.

You've got an integrated video card, and generally those can be misdiagnosed for video card drivers because their drivers come with the motherboard drivers.

Anyways, follow the prompts, do the install. You may have to restart depending on what operating system you're using. After that it should work. If not you'll want to install DirectX, but it says there you've got DirectX 9. That should be good enough for simple games.

**Edit: Good call Milan, I just didn't recognize it because I was too young when that was released lol.

It's not integrated, it's just really old. Still, the auto detect should work out. Either instruction is adequate.**|||Go to nVidia and update your drivers!|||This is a legacy device and has drivers only supporting windows XP and previous operating systems.

The device driver has not had a update since July 27 2004.All you can do is try downloading the driver from here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.asp… You will have to select "legacy" in first box then "TNT and TNT2 series" in second box then OS.

If that driver doesnt work then your device may simply be to old to support Minecraft|||>Its an ANCIENT video card made in 1999, see this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIVA_TNT2

Open GL is almost never used anymore - basically, its out of date. The video card is ancient. I would be surprised if you could even find drivers older than maybe the year 2002 for that card. Buy a new video card is the answer.

What to look for in a 32mb dedicated memory video card?

I have this flying simulator that requires a video graphics card with 3D Accelerated Video and 32MB of Dedicated Video Memory. However, I am clueless on video cards except that I need a PCI. The one I have now is an integrated video card that will not work at all. I am looking at this GeForce2 MX4000 DDR 64MB PCI Video Card but is the 64MB "dedicated video memory?" What about the 3D Accelerated Video because no video card that I have seen advertises itself as 3D anything. Help someone? Thanks. BTW, I am on a budget!|||If you have a PCI slot, there are only a few cards worth considering. Current games are too demanding for any PCI card, but older titles can still be played.

The PCI GeForce 6200 is affordable- it's the best performer among older, low-end cards.

The GeForce 9500GT is the best card available in old-style PCI. It has the best gaming performance (but that's not saying much, because all PCI cards are extremely slow by today's standards). The 9500GT is better than more expensive cards you might run across like the Radeon HD 5450, 4350 etc.

The GeForce 8400GS is just a waste of money. Same for the GeForce FX 5200 and Radeon 9250. Those are fine for everyday work, but have terrible gaming performance.|||Yes, the 64 mb is dedicated. Any memory on a video card is dedicated. It should support the 3D as all graphics cards support it to some level.|||can that even run anything now a days?

Need Computer help for video card!?

Okay I own an old computer a Compaq Presario 7462 with 320 MB of SDRAM, 500 MHz AMD-K6 processor and a 10GB Maxtor HDD. According to my specification sheet I have a

Integrated 2X AGP 3D Graphics Integrated 64-bit hardware-accelerated 3D graphics. When I attempt to play videos on youtube for example it's really choppy and laggy. In addition ads load kind of slow and lag a bit 2wo. I would like to know what video card you would recommend and if It is the video card at all. PLEASE HELP WOULD APPRECIATE IT!|||That is an old and slow PC, so not only is the card a hindrance the PC on the whole is barely able to run any kind of modern graphics. I suggest you invest in a new PC with a modern graphics card, the card that you want is not compatible with your system|||It is alost definatly the video card. I would recomend an ati radeon 9600 pro (google it) I use it and it works great|||Any AGP graphic card you'll find. Some budget AGP card with 128MB/RAM.|||It is not just the video card, the ram 320 MB is nothing and the processor is slow.|||upgrade to a AGP geforce fx 5200/5500 6200 w/turbocache or ATI radeon 9250 9600 9700 x300|||Not surprising that video is choppy with your current system.

I just sold a very similar system. The AMD K6 processor wasn't a very good multimedia processor and often sucked with video playback. Onboard graphics are also going to eat up computer power to play video's as well.

An Nvidia 6200 would take some of the load off your CPU and should help out with video playback. Unfortunately the card you mentioned is PCI-e which is not compatible with your computer as you mentioned the system uses AGP.

Unfortunately all the AGP video cards at Tigerdirect.com were much more expensive than the PCI-e one you saw :(

If it were my computer I would either : 1) upgrade to something better but if that wasn't an option I would

2) Double check the motherboard has an AGP slot and if so then find a cheap AGP card on Ebay and see if it helps. Personally I would look to get a geforce2 card for under $10 (including shipping) and see if it helps.

The Geforce2 is terribly dated for any sort of gaming but should take some of the load off the CPU and squeeze every last fps out of your system.

Good luck

Need Video Card for old computer! PLEASE!?

Okay I own an old computer a Compaq Presario 7462 with 320 MB of SDRAM, 500 MHz AMD-K6 processor and a 10GB Maxtor HDD. According to my specification sheet I have a

Integrated 2X AGP 3D Graphics Integrated 64-bit hardware-accelerated 3D graphics. BUT I JUST FOUND OUT i have PCI slots on the motherboard Im confused on which video card to buy. When I attempt to play videos on youtube for example it's really choppy and laggy. In addition ads load kind of slow and lag a bit 2wo. I would like to know what video card you would recommend and if It is the video card at all. PLEASE HELP WOULD APPRECIATE IT!|||These cards should work. Take you pick.

http://www.geeks.com/products_sc.asp?cat…|||i would not spend money on a 100-150$ video card by the sounds of it you have a very old computer my buddy once had a computer with on 92 mb of ram in it it coulnt even play video i would say to buy a new computer you can get a botem of the line dell for around $250 if you like.|||ok what you need is is more memory and faster proessor agp 8x non integrated video card would be right for you probably try ati raedon 1650 diamond or nivida geforce agp better than pci|||If there is no AGP slot onboard you are going to be out of luck.

An integrated video card is only part of the problem on your computer. The video card takes the load off the processor when playing a video, but doesn't play the video by itself. An integrated video card takes off less load than a dedicated video card.

Yes, a new video card may help but if all you have is regular PCI slots buying a new card is not going to be cost effective and PCI video cards aren't that great anyways.

If you just wanted to watch DIVX or AVI downloads my advice would be to get a conversion program and convert them to VCD (or regular MPEG1) and then watch them. The VCD codec is not demanding on the CPU and can run quite nicely on an AMD 500Mhz. However, DIVX and youtube video's use higher compression which requires more CPU power to decode which isn't going to work well with your AMD.

Using an older version of Windows Media player like version 6.4 may also help. It uses less system resources to run leaving more resources for the computer to play the video

Sorry, but your system just isn't up to standard to do what you want it to do. If you have $130 or so I could recommend a way to get things up and running but other than that your out of luck|||Well first buy some ram and second this is the list of graphic card ports from oldest to newest (newer is better of course).

so if you have pci and agp get agp but if you have pci-e go for that.I dont think u have pci-e :p

How to install directx 9.0-64mb 3d accelerated video card?

for free|||Open set-up file. And follow as reccomended.|||Um...what the hell are you smoking? A video card is hardware. You can't just download and install one. You have to physically acquire one and install it, and you cannot do that for free unless someone gives you one.

Furthermore, if you don't already have a DirectX 9 capable card then your computer isn't worth upgrading.

What is a 3D accelerated video card?

The most simple kind of display device is a dumb frame buffer. Basically you have a memory region where the program writes to it and it changes whats displayed on the screen.

Most graphics cards are a lot more advanced than that. Most have what is called a Graphics Processing Unit or GPU. It's like a CPU, but it's desined to process graphics. Basically directX knows how to offload most of the graphics stuff that your hardware supports. A CPU like pentium 4 is a general purpose processor. A GPU, like an NVIDIA chip, are application specific intergrated circuits. To do the same stuff in software that a GPU can do in hardware would take a lot more clock cycles, so it's really efficient at doing it's job.

The simple answer is that most graphics cards sold today are 3d accelerated.|||these are rather old now, what u would do is have a extra card in the pc, that would act as a 2nd graphics card taking the power of your 1st and adding more 3d power to it

and on the back of your machine would be a loop cable between the 2 card and u would plug that monitor into the 2nd graphics card.

there is a lot of new machines will 2 graphics cards, but the system is very different from the old days, it will either be SLI or crossfire|||Video cards which process 3 Dimension images quicker than a regular video card. Most video cards are like this, the new ones atleast.|||It's a card used to speed up graphics-intensive games and 3d applications. New computers incorporate a weak 3d card into their motherboard, but you can install a better one if you want more power for 3d graphics. These cards make a huge difference in terms of application speed for demanding programs.|||It's a video card with the independent processing power and memory to accurately map and model 3- dimensional objects and retain them for the next change coming 1/20 to 1/1000 of a second later. The 3dfx's Voodoo line was innovative and dominated awhile, but its nemesis, Nvidia, conquered and absorbed it. Nvidia's GeForce and ATI's Radeon are now the most popular competitors for graphics complexity and speed. Their highest models can each run multiple hi-res screens at near infinite color depth and refreshes too quick for any eye to follow. Most of us lowly humans can get by with much less expensive cards from earlier generations.

http://www.opengl.org/products/platform/…

How to obtain DirectX® 9.0c Compatible 3D accelerated 128 MB video card or equivalent?

You have to go out and buy one.|||It is practically saying to buy any video card that is current, of course 128 mb is relatively little today although you can make a case saying more is irrelevant but the fact is that puny7 amount is extinct for years.

Another thing is that I can't tell whether the CD's the problem or my video card- since it doesn't even want to load on my computer!!! If it was the video card, then I would be expecting a pop-up of the game menu on the desktop at least- and warn me that my computer's compatible or not- but nothing comes out on the screen at all! :( Should I have the game exchanged, buy a new video card, or get a laptop??? :( HELP... I really want to play the game!!! :((

(And if it's the Pixel card that's the problem...)

If ever I need to buy a Pixel shader card, can you recommend one that best suits particularly the requirements of this game? Thanks again. Ü|||A 3D accelerated video card is a video card that has the ability to process 3D graphics. Video cards and integrated graphics have had the ability to process 3D graphics for many years so it shouldn't be a concern for most people.

The part about supporting pixel shading is referring to a technology in video cards that provides the ability to render different lighting effects. Video cards in general have had pixel shading support for several years as well. Integrated graphics, however, did not have pixel shading support for as long as video cards.

Your GeForce 5200 video card meets the video card requirement because it is a 3D accelerated video card and has pixel shading support. Your problem seems to lie elsewhere.|||I have the same problem, actually.

I hope you find an answer.|||3D Acclerated simply means a dedicated physical graphics card, not an onboard graphics.

A pixel shader is a shader program executed by graphics processing unit. It adds 3D shading and lighting effects to pixels in an image.

Judging by the requirements, it must be a pretty old game. These graphics card support AGP 8X:
